CATpacity Adoption Event

The PSPCA is at CATpacity – hosts adoption event at Erie Avenue Headquarters Friday, July 3 & Sunday, July 5

In an effort to bring back in-“purrson” adoptions, PSPCA offers $30 off all adult cat adoptions

After rescuing over 100 cats in the last several weeks, with more coming in daily, and the ongoing challenge of adopting cats during the pandemic, the Pennsylvania SPCA is inviting adopters to its Erie Avenue headquarters for a CATpacity adoption event this Friday, July 3 & Sunday, July 5 from 11am-5pm.

Those looking to add a new feline family member will be invited one family at a time into the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Erie Avenue headquarters to meet cats in search of new homes. All adopters will be asked to fill out the Pennsylvania SPCA’s adoption application on their mobile phones prior to entering the building and invited inside in the order they arrived. Once a match is made, the remainder of the process will take place outside before the new family can head home “furever.”

Increased safety precautions, including social distancing and required face coverings for all those entering the building will be put into place to ensure the safety of staff and potential adopters. Adopters will enter through the northwest parking lot into what is traditionally a waiting room for veterinary clinic clients. There, banks of cats cages will be hosted directly inside the entrance door to minimize traffic through the building. Sanitizing procedures will be undertaken after each family exits the building.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, dog adoptions have been continuing due the ability to conduct all meets outside. However, cat adoptions have been significantly more challenging, and time consuming with meets taking place over zoom. This adoption event will give families the opportunity to meet the cats in-purrson.

Adoption fees for adult cats will be reduced by $30.
