Earned Income Tax Credit

The Pennsylvania SPCA is an Educational Improvement Organization under Pennsylvania’s Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program. Our Humane Education Program, which combines lessons in animal care and compassion with literacy and STEM-focused activities, qualifies as an Innovative Educational Program. Last year, thanks in part to EITC support, our Humane Education Program conducted 63 separate education visits with 38 schools in Philadelphia and reached a total of 1,561 students in first through twelfth grades. In addition, the Program hosted 5 high school interns at its East Erie Avenue headquarters who completed a cumulative total of 160 service hours.

Under the EITC program, your corporation can earn tax credits for making contributions to the PSPCA’s Humane Education Program. A business may receive a tax credit equal to 75% of its contribution to the PSPCA, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. The tax credit may be increased to 90% of the contribution made, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year, if the business agrees to provide the same amount of contribution for two consecutive years.

More information about EITC can be found here. Please contact Development@pspca.org with questions about how your company can support the PSPCA’s Innovative Educational Program.
