Newly Named Petco Love Invests in Lifesaving Work of Pennsylvania SPCA
Grant of $12,000 will help save more pet lives in Eastern Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, PA (April 20, 2021) – The Pennsylvania SPCA announced today a $12,000 grant investment from the newly named, Petco Love, to support their lifesaving work for animals throughout Eastern Pennsylvania.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in the Pennsylvania SPCA and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“We are honored by the support of Petco Love in helping us care for animals in need and for those who simply need a second chance,” said Gillian Kocher, Director of Public Relations at the Pennsylvania SPCA.

The Pennsylvania SPCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and rescuing animals from abuse and neglect throughout 18 counties in the Commonwealth. Since 1867, the PSPCA has been rescuing animals in need, rehabilitating them medically and behaviorally, and placing them with new, loving families. That mission comes to life through the lifesaving efforts of our Humane Law Enforcement division, in-house Shelter Hospital, low-cost veterinary services, behavior and enrichment program, humane education, and placement of abandoned animals in loving forever homes.
